Is blogging fun? Yes! Until…you’re getting sued. Read this blog post to learn how to blog legally and professionally.
When your legal grounds are covered, you no longer have to worry about getting sued or into legal trouble. In this blog post, I’ll teach you the four legal pages your blog NEEDS to get started.
These legal pages helped me to start making money my very first month of blogging and do it the right way…ready to dive in? Let’s go.
Many bloggers make the rookie mistake of thinking that legal pages are an optional bonus to their website.
It’s not. It’s gross negligence that comes with a hefty price tag if you’re not careful. I don’t say this to scare you, but to help you see the ramifications of a mistake that’s easily fixed.
You may be wondering, “why do I even NEED legal pages?”
The short answer? So you can avoid annoying legal fees and expensive drawn-out lawsuits that destroy your business.
The long answer? Well, here’s a bit of backstory.
I knew that every blog and website NEEDED legal pages. But I didn’t think they were possible to get without paying thousands of dollars to a lawyer. Then one day, one of my close friends messaged me saying, “Sarah…we need to talk. I need your help.”
She’s a well-known blogger who’s been in the digital space for YEARS. While protecting her identity she did give me full permission to share her story.
It could save you tens of thousands of dollars.
Long story short, she was fined around $25,000 in fines with an additional $4,000 in legal fees. ALL because she didn’t have legal pages on her website.
There’s a thing called The Federal Trade Commission. If you’ve been working online then you’ll know them by the FTC. They’re the people that give rights and protections to consumers, especially online consumers.
I did some research to help out my best friend and found that these lawsuits from the FTC were actually very common.
I knew I needed a solution for her, myself, and one to protect my followers and readers from as well.
I was happy to find a bunch of legal templates that were curated by a lawyer who works with bloggers and business owners.
We both ended up getting the legal pages for our businesses and when I tell you how much information I didn’t know about this… I was shocked.
You need legal pages on your blog and website if you…
Have affiliate links on your blog.

Offer to coach or consult of any kind.
Want to work with paid brands and sponsorships.

There are FOUR main legal pages you need for your website and blog. Now, you can place them all together under the same page as I have done on my website or place them individually… it’s up to you.
When it comes to your Legal Terms you need
Terms and Conditions
Of course, there are other pages you can get based on your needs but those are the basics.
“But getting those pages would cost thousands upon thousands of dollars right???”
They could if you hire a personal lawyer. Or, you could go ahead and get a bundle of them for a small fraction of the cost.
